Another watercolor commission for :icondietbudah:. An exclusive first look at Andrea Libman's new cooking show.
I'm really enjoying these warm, cheerful slice-o'-life commissions. I should probably do some more.

Watercolor on 9x12 140 lb. Strathmore watercolor paper. Finished: 12/8/16.

I can't imagine how much time and effort you take to do not only this, but in all of your works. But all time used is more than worth, all of your works are just impressive. My congratulations, we all really hope you can produce and share more works with us. ^^

Your art is a source of endless delight for me. All the brushstrokes, all the warm glows, all the radiance of water and pigment covering the paper like molten sugar. Never stop working your magic, wizard.

Aww, this is really nice. Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy are my two favorite MLP characters, and I always like to imagine them being close friends who hang out together, despite Pinkie being such an extrovert and Flutter such an introvert. I really like this scene because this seems like an activity they both would be super-comfortable doing, something they could both relax and have fun together with. :)

(Lovely watercolors too, of course! And so many details!)

Thanks very much! These two have had great chemistry together ever since their little exchange in "Griffon the Brushoff", which is what made this one so much fun to work on. I'd love to see them featured in a Map episode sometime.

You're welcome. :) Is that episode in the second season? I'm afraid I'm sort of a newbie who's still only seen the first. But I have both the first and the second on DVD and am looking forward to getting back to watching them. (Fitting for my mascot, I'm a dinosaur who still doesn't have Netflix, haha. :XD:)

Oh wow, you've got a lot of catching up to do! I guess you wouldn't get my reference to Map episodes just yet. "Griffon the Brushoff" is the fifth episode of Season One. The exchange I mentioned occurs at the 14:30 mark of the episode.

Oh, wait, the episode with Gilda? Yes, I've seen that one! Sorry, I just forgot that was the title. Yes, I noticed how Pinkie was protective of Fluttershy in that one and liked that very much! :)

Thanks! The great thing about these little scenes is there's always a story behind it, and it's up to the viewer to decide what it is. It don't matter. Just let your imagination run wild. :iconbob-rossplz:

Oh goodness!

"these warm, cheerful slice-o'-life commissions."
It's the little details that really help bring this image to life. Between the cake batter being splattered on Pinkie, to the very bright outside, to the details on the instruments, don't think I didn't see that Easter Egg of a milk jar there Mr. Wizard, to Pinkie sprinkling the sprinkles on with her mane, you brought this scene to life in the best way possible!

Thanks! This one was actually a little bit daunting, just for the sheer volume of detail, the intricate lighting, and knowing I had to get it done quick enough to have time to work on "Winter" (to say nothing of the two-week mad dash to get "A Pony Kind of Christmas" done). But that's the thrill of it, I suppose.

We may never know how Pinkie acquired that milk. :iconpinkieishappyplz:

See I was on my way to the store because I ran out of milk, and on the way I thought, "Why not get some super duper special milk because these cupcakes we're making need to be super duper special!" So I searched for a place where they have some amazing milk on hand, and I found this place! Do you have any milk...

Why, thank you! I believe I started sketching on October thirty first, and was ready to start painting by the day after Thanksgiving, finishing it on December eighth. So roughly thirty eight days of work. It would have been less if I hadn't been working on "Winter" at the same time.
