Elfstone

It is a decisive moment for the character, when he casts aside the doubts and fears that have for so long plagued him, takes his sword, and accepts his place as the rightful king of Gondor.

For this being my seventh DS painting, there sure are a lot of firsts about it. To begin with, it's my first DS-drawn human portrait, also the first human I've drawn at all in over a month. It's the first fully colored piece of Lord of the Rings based art that I've ever done, and it is the first of any of my works that has even come close to any level of photo-realism.
Consequently, it has also taken longer than any other project of its kind before it. I started it on the sixth of July, and had all of the ground work done by the fifteenth. I have been tweaking and fine tuning it off and on these past few weeks as time allows. But now I feel the work is done and I can move on to the next project in the queue.

To say that I am pleased with it would be an understatement bordering on the idiotic. The only thing I don't like about it is that it makes my other DS paintings look like cheap parlour tricks.
